Biography:
Sergey Medzyanovsky has been always fascinated
with the concepts of time, discovery, and the flow of human
history. His canvases capture the mystique and excitement of
journeys to distant, unseen places aboard elegant vessels.
Dirigibles, tall ships, and Jules Verne-inspired submersibles. We
can imagine early explores setting off from Europe to discover
distant shores or inventors daring to take to the skies for the
first time.
Medzynovsky reinforces the feel of antiquity in his work with the look of aged raw-hide or other well-worn materials – old, weather-beaten maps often come to mind. The artist’s well developed, fine brush stroke allow him to create images in the realistic, detailed style of the 17th and 18th century masters.
Sergey Medzyanovsky is a Russian artist born in Moscow in 1957. Sergey graduated from Moscow Institute of Graphics Design. Medzyanovsky’s art was exhibited in prestigious art shows in Russia, Norway, Spain and Germany.
